Anniversary Pics

For the full anniversary details see a previous post. :) Here are the pictures I'd meant to include with it:

Blake making me grilled cheese and tomato soup

We had a picnic in the living room!

Then we had to go out for dessert. I had coupons to On the Border for free desserts...but of course I forgot them. We stayed anyway! ;)

These are pictures from eating at Shogun restaurant a few days before our actual anniversary. My hair looks like part of the plant in this photo:

Our friends Lula and June went with us to celebrate!

Past Weekend in Grove, OK

This past weekend was our first concert outing for the year! It went really well. I made sure to get several pictures. We went to a church in Grove, OK (near the NE corner that borders Missouri). Blake agreed, in addition to the Sunday concert, to do a concert at the grand opening of a new community center called "Rivers of Life." This was so neat, a local business man saw the need for the youth and churches of the community to have a place to bring in music and events and even just a nice place to have meetings. So he spent his money and built this community center! It actually is quite an intimate space despite the pictures that make it look like a huge concert hall:

Two bands played after Blake, hence all the guitars and drums and keyboards...

After Blake sang at Rivers of Life, he ran over to do a radio interview. This station has coverage mainly in Grove and outlaying parts and into Missouri even. The station is run out of a man's home. Here's Blake being interviewed by the Pastor for the Sunday concert.

Blake sounded great and they played "When I Get Carried Away" for their listeners.

We had a good turnout for the concert on Sunday and a few people came again from hearing Blake the night before. Blake and I tried out a new song we are working on called "Compatible" and it was a hit. It's kind of a silly song so it was really fun.

Then, we drove home during the Superbowl but Blake caught the last 30 min of it or so. We were so tired driving home, it had been a long weekend. We were driving straight into the sun and it was hard to see, so Blake came up with a solution since he wears glasses and doesn't have prescription sunglasses:

Silly man. I had to get a pic of it. It was a good weekend!

Weekend

I haven't had a chance to upload any pictures and I wanted to for this post, but I'll have to do it later. Maybe tonight while I watch "The Bachelor" (don't judge, you know you watch it too...or maybe it really is just me that watches it. Go "Hot-Dog-girl!").

So last week was Blake's and my 3 year anniversary. :) I joke that it feels way longer than 3-years but in a good way. We just know all about each other and can talk about anything and I feel the life I had before Blake kinda fading from my memory. But that's mostly because I have a really atrocious long term memory. Short term, I'm all about, but ask me what I did over 3 months ago and I'm clueless. So I ask Blake to tell me stories all the time of us dating and stuff. It's really cute because he can remember all the details. I think he might make some of them up, but hey!

Before I say what we did for this year's anniversary, I'll recap what we did for the past 2. Our first anniversary we went back to the Dallas Omni hotel (fancy!) where we stayed after our wedding. We ate at 3-forks in Dallas (see an older post below for pics). And we shopped at DSW Shoe Warehouse. This I actually have a picture of:

For our second anniversary, we stayed at a hotel in OKC. Blake and I both are having trouble remembering details other than that. I don't even remember where we ate at!

THIS anniversary we pulled out the big bucks.... we had a picnic in our living room. :) Ha, after Christmas we were wiped out of spending money, so I asked Blake to make me dinner and we could have a picnic. He intended (he says) to make me an elaborate chicken, potatoes, veggie thing but around 4pm that day, I called him and said I wanted tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. He got off easy. But he made them good!! That was last Wednesday the 14th. I guess we also celebrated with our friends June and Lula by going to Shogun Steakhouse last Monday. We had a giftcard from my lovely friend Brandy. Is it strange I get really excited about the soup they serve at these restaurants? Miso soup I think. It's just like chicken broth and onions but I totally love it! Lula kinda was like, is this it? Then we had all the rice and chicken and veggies though so she was relieved. She'd never been to a hibachi grill before!

Then this past weekend Blake and I rented 4 movies. (99 cents at Blockbuster!) Our success rate took a hit this weekend, only 1 out of the 4 was any good I thought. It was "Owning Mahowney" with Phillip Seymour Hoffman, about a guy with a huge gambling problem. Blake started sweating it got so uncomfortable with the amount of money he kept losing! In one night the guy's winnings were totaling over 9 million but he couldn't walk away and cash in because he'd "just gotten there". He ended up losing it all. Quite stressful!

And we had a birthday party for my friend Melissa. A surprise party! Our small group put it together (well, Mary did it) and we all had a good time. The women enjoyed playing music Catch Phrase but I think the men just endured it. I liked it. I didn't know any of the songs, but it was still fun.

This coming weekend will be our last weekend off before concerts start again. I'm looking forward to traveling again, but I will miss our beginnings of a social life. I'll just have to work hard at inviting people over when I can.

Okay, I need to get to work!!
